Director Suneel Darshan revealed his plans for a sequel to his 1999 film, Jaanwar, which celebrated its 26th anniversary on December 24. The film starring Akshay Kumar in the lead, was the director's sophomore venture.
Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, about plans for a sequel the director said, "I have written a script. I don’t know whether I’ll call it Jaanwar 2 or something else. But I have written a script in that genre. Hopefully, I’ll make it someday. It’ll be a heavy-budget film."
Surprisingly the director revealed that he wouldn't cast Akshay Kumar in the film. "I don’t think he would be the best choice now because the character is that of a boy who is turning into a man. So, I don’t think it’s the right subject for him," said the director.
Jaanwar had music by Anand-Milind.The film also starred Karishma Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, and Ashish Vidyarthi.
