Sandeep Reddy Vanga says Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar carries "masculine spine"; Aditya Dhar responds

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is the latest in the long line of celebrities who have praised Ranveer Singh's latest film Dhurandhar. The spy-drama, directed by Aditya Dhar, has been having a dream run at the box office and has already amassed Rs 700 crore worldwide. In a brief note on his X handle, the Animal director said the film is "built like a man who doesn’t talk much and carries a masculine spine."

The filmmaker further appreciated Dhurandhar's music, performances from the lead cast, screenplay and direction, underlining that the movie film "moves with dominance and fierce." "Akshay Khanna sir and Ranveer Singh erased into air and just disappeared into characters effortlessly. Thank you Aditya Dhar for making everyone experience the true weight of untold sacrifices," he wrote.

Replying to his words of praise, Aditya Dhar expressed his admiration for the filmmaker's works. He stated that his plaudits have given the journey of the film its "quiet validation."

On Sandeep Reddy Vanga's storytelling skills, he said he has always looked up to the "fearlessness" with which he stands by his movies and his "faith in unapologetic, masculine storytelling." He further shared his gratitude and said his voice keeps Indian cinema "honest, rooted, and strong."

Dhurandhar follows the story of an Indian intelligence operative (Ranveer Singh as Hamza Ali Mazari), who infiltrates Pakistan's underworld at the behest of an Indian spymaster Ajay Sanyal (Madhavan). The film has been receiving rave reviews from celebrities and fans following its release on December 5.

The cast also features Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dakait, R Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal, Sanjay Dutt as Chaudhary Aslam, and Arjun Rampal as Major Iqbal of the ISI. Sara Arjun took on the role of the female lead for the first time in this film after being part of several projects as a child actor.

Meanwhile, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is currently working on Prabhas-starrer Spirit. The film also stars Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi, Kanchana and Prakash Raj. The direction team of Spirit includes Ravi Teja’s son Mahadhan and filmmaker Trivikram’s son Manoj Rishie. Besides working as a script-writer, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is also the editor for his film.
