The trailer for Vir Das' upcoming debut directorial, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos has been released. Produced by Aamir Khan and Vir, the film is set to release on January 16, 2026.

The trailer shows the titular hero, who has failed to enter MI7, seven times. Happy Patel also is unaware of the fact that he is an Indian, and is sent to India for a mission. The trailer then shows a montage of hilarious failures that Happy Patel endures while trying to 'blend' in.

The cast of the film also includes Mithila Palkar, Mona Singh, Sharib Hashmi, Srushti Tawade, Imran Khan, and Aamir Khan. At a recent event Aamir revealed that he is playing the role of Mona Singh's father in the film.

Aamir and Mona have previously collaborated on Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots (2009) and in Laal Singh Chaddha (2022). Mona essayed the role of Aamir's mother in Laal Singh Chaddha (2022), with Aamir playing the titular character.

Kavi Shashtri has directed the film alongside Vir. Kavi also produces the film along with Aparna Purohit, Aamir, and Vir. Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos is written by Amogh Ranadive and Vir.
