Dhurandhar is becoming a tour de force at the box office. The Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and R Madhavan starrer is inching close to the Rs 300-crore mark at the domestic box office in the second week. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, the film made Rs 53 crore on its second Saturday, a 63 per cent increase in its collections from the previous day (Friday’s collection: Rs 32.5 crore). The Aditya Dhar directorial has currently made Rs 292.75 crore.

On Saturday, the night shows for Dhurandhar again led at an occupancy of 88 per cent, followed by evening shows at 79.37 per cent, afternoon shows at 73.52 per cent and morning shows at 45.39 per cent.

When it comes to cities, the film had the most amount of theatre occupancy in Chennai (91 per cent), followed by Bengaluru (82.25 per cent) and Pune (81.25 per cent). Mumbai and National Capital Region (NCR) stood at 75.25 per cent and 77.75 per cent, respectively.

Dhurandhar will soon be the highest grossing film for its lead Ranveer Singh. Currently it is just a few crores away from surpassing the most earning film for the actor, Padmaavat, 2018 at Rs 302.15 crore.

The film also features Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi.

Despite the big box office numbers, the film has divided the critics and many have criticized it for being propagandist. CE’s review of the film read: “Dhurandhar blends the elements of a spy-thriller and an epic gangster saga. The result is a film which is always pregnant with promise but never delivers. At a run-time of 3. 5 hours (longest since 2008's Jodhaa Akbar), the film sometimes hits but often misses on the engagement meter.”
