The ensemble patriotic-actioner Dhurandhar has passed the Monday test. The film’s collection dropped by close to 46 per cent on Monday but it still managed to rake in Rs 23.25 crore, as per Sacnilk.com.
The Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R Madhavan starrer opened with RS 28 crore on Friday. These collections jumped to Rs 32 crore and Rs 43 crore over the weekend. The film’s total collection stands at Rs 126.25 crore.
The highest number of takers for the Aditya Dhar directorial were in Pune, where the film recorded a theatre occupancy of 42 per cent, followed by Mumbai and National Capital Region (NCR) both at 37 per cent. Dhurandhar’s night shows led in occupancy with 52.49 per cent, followed by evening shows (37.71 per cent), afternoon shows (26.17 per cent) and morning shows (13.35 per cent).
Apart from commercial success, Dhurandhar has had mixed reviews from critics. CE’s review of the film read: “Dhurandhar blends the elements of a spy-thriller and an epic gangster saga. The result is a film which is always pregnant with promise but never delivers. At a run-time of 3. 5 hours (longest since 2008's Jodhaa Akbar), the film sometimes hits but often misses on the engagement meter.”
