Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was all praises for Jaideep Ahlawat as he commended the actor’s performance as Hathiram in Paatal Lok. Sachin answered a question by a fan on Reddit and called Jaideep a ‘fantastic actor’ saying that he loves his work.
A user asked Sachin during an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session, “Jaideep Ahlawat has spoken a lot about you, what do you think about his works?” Sachin replied to this, “He is a fantastic actor and I love his work. Hathiram in Paatal Lok was amazing.”
Jaideep shared a screenshot of this and shared on his Instagram stories. He wrote, “Kahin main sapna to nahi dekh raha (Am I dreaming). Thank you Sachin Tendulkar.”
Jaideep plays the role of an honest, unfit police inspector Hathiram in Paatal Lok, who finds himself mixed up in devastating crimes and investigates them with personal grit. The neo-noir crime-thriller series is created by Sudip Sharma. The first season of the show which aired in 2020 was directed by Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy and also starred Gul Panag, Neeraj Kabi, Swastika Mukherjee, Ishwak Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Niharika Lyra Dutt, and Richa Chaturvedi in pivotal roles. It was loosely based on Tarun Tejpal's 2010 novel The Story of My Assassins.
The second season came out earlier this year in Janary and was set against the political turmoil in Nagaland. It starred Tillotama Shome, Nagesh Kukunoor, and Jahnu Barua. Both the seasons were met with critical acclaim for the performances, gritty storyline and exploration of complex socio-political issues through the story.
Sachin was also asked by another user about the movies he watched and enjoyed recently. To this, he replied, "I watch them as and when I get time. The recent ones I have enjoyed are 3BHK and Ata Thambaycha Naay!."
