Jaideep Ahlawat has revealed that he turned down the role of Vibhishan in Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana. There were reports earlier that claimed that the actor was approached to be part of the film.
In an interview with Lallantop, Jaideep said, “The role was offered to me, but the timings did not match. They wanted a particular timing for the two actors who would be playing Vibhishan and Ravana, which did not happen. I am sure the dates of the actor playing Ravana are more important.”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the much-awaited mythological epic also stars Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, Ravi Dubey and Lara Dutta in pivotal roles. The film was officially announced last year. It is set to be released in two parts, with the first one set to be released on Diwali 2026, followed by the second part in Diwali 2027.
Jaideep also confirmed being part of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming actioner, King, which is being helmed by Siddharth Anand and also stars Suhana Khan. Jaideep was last seen in Jewel Thief: The Heist Begins, which was produced by Siddharth and also starred Saif Ali Khan.
