Rakesh Roshan revealed recently during an online interaction that it took around 6 months to design the mask of Hrithik Roshan in the superhero actioner, Krrish (2006). The film was helmed by the veteran director as a sequel to his earlier, sci-fi drama, Koi… Mil Gaya (2003).
Rakesh appeared recently in the vlog of director Farah Khan on her YouTube channel when she visited Rakesh’s deluxe mansion in Khandala. While having lunch on the table, Farah asked him about the mask in Krrish. Rakesh said, “It took about six months because we were designing and wanted to see which looks better on Hrithik's outfit and all that took six months. The mask was made out of wax. Hrithik used to wear the mask for three to four hours. The wax would melt. He had to remove it and put in a new one. So I had an air-conditioned bus with the AC on for 24 hours.”
Rakesh also said that the black outfit which Hrithik wore in the film was quite heavy which made it difficult to shoot while wearing it.
Krrish also starred Priyanka Chopra, Naseeruddin Shah, Rekha and Archana Puran Singh in pivotal roles. It continued the story of Koi… Mil Gaya and followed the son of Rohit Mehra, Krishna, who discovers that he has superhuman abilities and shifts to Singapore after falling in love with Priya (Priyanka) as he takes on the identity of the superhero, Krrish.
A third part in the franchise was made in 2013 with Vivek Oberoi as the antagonist. It also starred Kangana Ranaut in a pivotal role with Priyanka reprising her part.
Now, the fourth part is in works with Hrithik set to turn director for the film. Production house Yash Raj Films will collaborate with Rakesh Roshan’s Filmkraft Productions to back the project. It is scheduled to go on floors early next year.
