The teaser of Naseeruddin Shah, Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh starrer poetic romance Gustaakh Ishq was unveiled by the makers on Monday. Directed by Vibhu Puri, the film has been produced by celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra alongwith his brother Dinesh Malhotra under their Stage5 Production banner.
The 47-second teaser gives us a glimpse into the characters played by Vijay, Fatima and Shah. The film seems to be set in an erstwhile era in the bylanes of Purani Dilli and the fading kothis of Punjab. Shah’s voiceover gives us a taste of the film’s old-school, poetic love. “They laugh in sadness and when they are happy, they cry. These travellers in love often go awry.”
Gustaakh Ishq boasts of music by Vishal Bhardwaj and lyrics by Gulzar.
Speaking about his foray as a producer, Manish said, “My love for cinema began in childhood. The silver screen was my doorway to the world, watching colours, clothes, music, and lifestyles unfold in cinema halls shaped my imagination and inspired me to become a designer. Today, stepping into film production feels like my way of giving back to the medium that has given me everything.”
The film is slated to hit theatres in November, 2025.
