The first look of Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut series The Ba***ds of Bollywood was unveiled on Sunday. The show stars Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba, Manoj Pahwa and Mona Singh, among others.

The promo opens with Aryan Khan doing a take on his father’s Mohabbatein (2000) character, full with a violin. “Ek ladki thi deewani si, ek ladke pe who mart thi (There was a love-struck girl, who was into a guy),” Aryan says in a voiceover. “Nazre jhukage, sharma ke galiyon se guzarti thi (Shy, with drooped eyes, she used to pass by lanes),” he adds. But there is a diabolical twist, “Fir achanak ek truck aaya aur usse kuchal ke chala gaya (Then a truck ran over her),” he says. “Thoda zyada ho gaya na? Mera show bhi hain, thoda zyada ( Got too much no? My show is also, too much).” We then see glimpses of Lakshya and the bright, jazzy world of Bollywood.

As per the synopsis, The Ba***ds of Bollywood is about “An ambitious outsider and his friends who navigate the chaotic, larger-than-life, yet uncertain world of Bollywood in this high-stakes drama.”

The series also features Manish Chaudhari, Anya Singh, Vijayant Kohli, and Gautami Kapoor. Co-created by Bilal Siddiqi and Manav Chauhan, the show has been written by Aryan, Bilal and Manav.

The Ba***ds of Bollywood has been produced by Aryan’s mother, Gauri Khan.
