Earlier today, Hrithik Roshan took to his Instagram account to reminisce about the journey of his character Kabir in the War franchise from the YRF Spy Universe. "In Kabir's world, battles may be won.. but the war goes on," the actor wrote. The actor added that reprising the character in War 2 has only inspired him to do more. "A character that came to life in 2019, has only fueled my fire as an actor and entertainer," Hrithik wrote.

The actor went on to add that "witnessing all your cheers and celebrations in cinema halls, only makes Kabir taller and my heart fuller." He reiterated a point that he has made many times before, describing Kabir as one of his "most cherished on-screen characters" ever.

War 2 has brought Hrithik and Jr NTR for the first as the hero and the antagonist, respectively. The film from director Ayan Mukerji has been met with mostly negative reviews from critics, but it has earned around 133 crore at the domestic box office, according to the industry tracker website Sacnilk.

In one of our two reviews of War 2, Kartik Bhardwaj called it "another unnecessary addition to an already bloated YRF Spy Universe" and criticised many aspects, including its characterisation. "When Kabir exited the helicopter, hair-swaying, muscle-flexing, you weren’t looking at a secret agent, but at Hrithik Roshan in his full Greek-God glory," reads an excerpt from the review.
