Jr NTR opened up recently about working in War 2 and said that he chose to be part of the film as he liked the script and was excited to work with Hrithik Roshan. The two are set to share the screen for the first time in War 2, where NTR takes on the role opposite the enigmatic super-spy Kabir, with Hrithik reprising his iconic character from the 2019 blockbuster War.

The actor revealed what drew him to the project. “The main reason for me to choose War 2 was definitely the script, its potential and my excitement to work with Hrithik sir,” NTR shared.

Hrithik earlier praised NTR and said, “He is the first co-star I have worked with who doesn’t need rehearsals. He has every step inside him already. That amazed me completely. Working on the dance-off with NTR was an extraordinary experience, and I learned a lot from him, which I’ll now incorporate.”

Written by Sridhar Raghavan and directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film also stars Kiara Advani and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. War 2 has been produced under the YRF Spy Universe banner. As NTR makes his massive Bollywood debut in a never-seen-before avatar, reports suggest he brings an unpredictable, powerful energy to the role — adding an entirely new dynamic to the franchise.

Last week, Aavan Jaavan, the first song from War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani was unveiled by the makers. The song has vocals by Arijit Singh and Nikhita Gandhi and is composed by Pritam with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.

War 2 is part of YRF’s Spy Universe and releases after Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. It is a sequel to War, which was directed by Siddharth Anand and was released in 2019. It also starred  Tiger Shroff, Vaani Kapoor, Ashutosh, and Anupriya Goenka.

The film is scheduled to release on August 14, eyeing to capitalise on the Independence Day weekend.
