‘Aavan Jaavan’, the first song from Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani’s upcoming actioner War 2 was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. Featuring vocals by Arijit Singh and Nikhita Gandhi, the song is composed by Pritam with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.
The music video of the song is filled with warm visuals featuring Hrithik and Kiara roaming on the streets of Europe. The two share a sizzling chemistry together as they are seen holidaying amidst some stunning architectural marvels. The vocals by Arijit carry a heartfelt simplicity which add a nostalgic touch to the evocative lyrics of Amitabh that have a slight Punjabi flavor. Hrithik and Kiara are also seen briefly dancing along with a crowd in some parts of the song, with steps choreographed by Bosco Leslie Martis.
Earlier the film’s trailer was unveiled which introduced the rivalry between Hrithik and Jr. NTR, who plays the antagonist in the actioner. The trailer didn’t reveal much about the storyline but just showed the two as soldiers for whom "India comes first".
Speaking about the film's shoot wrap earlier, Hrithik said, "Feeling a mixed bag of emotions as the cameras stopped rolling for War 2. 149 days of relentless chase, action, dance, blood, sweat, injuries... and it was all WORTH IT! It's always bitter-sweet to call it a wrap for Kabir, it will take a couple of days to feel like myself again."
Directed by Ayan Mukerji and written by Sridhar Raghavan, War 2 is part of YRF’s Spy Universe and releases after Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan. It is a sequel to War, which was directed by Siddharth Anand and was released in 2019. It also starred Tiger Shroff, Vaani Kapoor, Ashutosh and Anupriya Goenka.
Produced by Aditya Chopra and Akshaye Widhani, War 2 is set to be released in theatres on August 14 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
