The trailer of Gram Chikitsalay, a new series from the creator of Panchayat, was unveiled on Wednesday. Starring Amol Parashar and Vinay Pathak, the show has been created by Deepak Kumar Mishra, written by Vaibhav Suman and Shreya Shrivastava and directed by Rahul Pandey.

The trailer gives a glimpse into the quirky, chaotic world of Dr. Prabhat (Amol), a new medical officer in the remote village of Bhatkandi. As he takes over the village clinic, he has to face a number of challenges, which include the lack of supplies, the dearth of medical awareness among villagers and the local political drama. The show seems to be having the spirit of Panchayat in the dressing of the rural medical environment.

Talking about the series, Amol said, “At its heart, Gram Chikitsalay is a nuanced exploration of a doctor’s determination to serve, even when faced with deep-rooted resistance from the community he hopes to help.”

Vinay, who plays a quack, Daak Sahab, in the show, added, “What makes Gram Chikitsalay stand out is its simplicity and relatability. The show captures the charm and quirks of village life while shedding light on an important issue—accessible healthcare.”

Gram Chikitsalay, also features Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, Anandeshwar Dwivedi, Akash Makhija, and Garima Vikrant Singh in pivotal roles. It is slated to release on Prime Video on May 9.
