The release date of Ishaan Khatter and Bhumi Pednekar’s The Royals is out. The series created by Rangita and Ishita Pritish Nandy will premiere on Netflix on May 9.

The streaming giant shared a new poster from the series on their Instagram profile to make the release date announcement. “A ziddi rajkumar meets a girlboss aamkumari. Royal mess, ya shahi love story? (A haughty prince meets a girlboss. Royal mess or royal love story? Watch The Royals, a new Netflix series out 9 May, only on Netflix.)

Directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, The Royals stars Bhumi as Sophia Shekhar, the ambitious and feisty CEO of a company called Work Potato, and Ishaan plays Aviraaj Singh, a prince. The series also stars Zeenat Aman, Sakshi Tanwar, Nora Fatehi, Dino Morea, Milind Soman, Chunky Panday, Vihaan Samat, Kavya Trehan, Sumukhi Suresh, Udit Arora, Lisa Mishra and Luke Kenny.

Talking about the series, creators Rangita and Ishita said, “With The Royals, we have mounted a romance that whips together the old-world charm of palaces and Indian royalty with glass-walled boardrooms and modern reality—where love is anything but easy. The series is about two people from completely different worlds, each fighting their own battles, constantly at odds, yet irresistibly drawn to each other in ways they never expected.”
