Actor Kritika Kamra has joined the cast of critically-acclaimed film Peepli Live’s (2010) director Anusha Rizvi’s upcoming project. The women-centric drama is being produced by Jio Studios and also stars Sheeba Chaddha and Shreya Dhanwanthary.

As per a press release, the film is set “against the vibrant backdrop of Delhi and delves into a poignant human story that highlights the strength and resilience of its female protagonists.”

Principal photography for the film commenced earlier this month in the capital and is slated to continue through mid-May.

A source close to production said, “We are thrilled to bring together such a talented team for this project. The narrative is both powerful and timely, and we believe it will resonate deeply with the audiences. The project is set to begin filming this week in Delhi. The cast is currently in middle of prep workshops in the capital.”

Kritika was last seen in the film Bheed (2023) and the series Gyaarah Gyaarah (2024) and Bambai Meri Jaan (2023).

The upcoming film also signifies Anusha’s return to feature filmmaking after 15 years.
