It's time for payback. The trailer of Emraan Hashmi headliner Army-actioner Ground Zero was unveiled by the makers on Monday. Directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, the film also stars Sai Tamhankar and Zoya Hussain in pivotal roles.

Sanchit Gupta and Priyadarshree Srivastava have written the story, screenplay and dialogue of the film.

The trailer opens in Kashmir in the year 2001. A military man tapping a call hears a handler instructing a terrorist, “Days of stone-pelting are now behind us. Time to take up arms.” BSF officer Dubey (Emraan Hashmi) is called to the Valley to battle terrorism and capture the dreaded Jaish-E-Mohammed terrorist Ghazi Baba. We also see how Emraan’s character tries to reason with a young boy who has been radicalised. The trailer is filled with lot of action sequences and also seems to take an objective stance on the Kashmir question as Emraan’s character asks a poignant question: “Is only Kashmir’s land ours or also it’s people?”

In the film Emraan is playing the role of BSF Deputy Commandant Narendra Nath Dubey, who spearheaded a critical two-year investigation into a national security threat following the 2001 Parliament attack. This operation ultimately led to the identification and elimination of the terrorist mastermind Ghazi Baba in 2003.

Ground Zero will release in theatres on April 25.
