Saif Ali Khan opened up about Indian politicians at an event recently and heaped praises on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him ‘impressive’. He also said that he likes politicians who are brave and honest. The clip from the conversation has been widely circulating on social media.

During the conversation at the India Today Conclave, he was asked by the host about the Indian politicians whom he thinks can take India to the future by mentioning PM Narendra Modi, Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi. Saif responded by saying, “I think they are all brave politicians. I think what Rahul Gandhi has done has been very impressive. There was a point when people were disrespecting things he was saying and doing. And I think he has turned that around by working very hard in a very interesting way.”

During the conversation, the actor also spoke of the power of cinema to bring people together, saying, "As actors, our job is to entertain and unite people through our work. Cinema is one of the few professions that transcends boundaries of caste and creed, bringing the entire country together. For me, our work is about entertaining and connecting people, creating a sense of unity among them."

On the work front, Saif was last seen in Adipurush last year in a negative role. He will be seen next in the Telugu film, Devara: Part 1 which also stars Jr. NTR and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead. It is set to be released in theatres on September 27.
