The trailer of Alia Bhatt-headliner Jigra was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. Directed by Vasan Bala, the rescue-actioner also stars Vedang Raina.

The trailer opens with Alia’s Satya getting a call. She is then seen worriedly talking to her brother Ankur (Vedang) asking him if he consumed drugs, or mistakenly ate something spiked. Ankur is soon sentenced to the electric chair and Satya takes it upon herself to rescue him. We see her undergo intense training to execute the jailbreak. In a poignant scene, she puts a knife on her wrist and asks if putting her life at risk will make the authorities allow Ankur to meet her. In another, she orders the full menu on a flight and gobbles hungrily. The trailer ends with Alia’s Satya stating she is “not an ethical person” and is only Ankur’s sister.

The film also features Rahul Ravindran, Manoj Pahwa, who plays a mentor to Satya and Vivek Gomber. Jigra was originally scheduled to come out on September 27 but it was later announced in June that the film would hit theatres on October 11.
