Akshay Kumar starrer Sarfira has an OTT release date. The Hindi remake of the 2020 Tamil film Soorarai Pottru will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from October 11.

Directed by Sudha Kongara, who also helmed the original, Sarfira also features Radhikka Madan and Paresh Rawal.

Akshay took to social media on Thursday to make the announcement. He shared a video message which was captioned, “Apne sapnon ko poora karne ke liye, #Sarfira hona padta hai! (To make your dreams come true, you have to be ‘Sarfira’) Watch the dreams of a common man soar in Sarfira, streaming only on Disney+ Hotstar from October 11.”

Sarfira released on July 12 and was a dud at the box office. The film’s lifetime India collection was about Rs 22 crore.

Our review of the film read, "Sarfira is an unoriginal, woefully predictable experience. An almost shot-by-shot remake of Sudha Kongara’s 2020 multiple National-award winner Soorarai Pottru, the film feels force-fitted and inorganic.
