Kareena Kapoor Khan opened up about her film The Buckingham Murders and said that the makers tried to stay authentic to the locality in which it is set. That’s the reason the film, directed by Hansal Mehta, was shot in a mix of Hindi and English.

At a recent event, Kareena said, "I think The Buckingham Murders is a very brave film because it's a film that we set out to do which would be very true to its ethnicity, and authenticity. We wanted to shoot the film in a small town in England and it was a story about that. But we can't have the local people speak in Hindi. So, we said let's make a Hindi and English and a Hinglish film and let's stick to its truest form. So, somehow, I just wanted to do it. I thought after like 25 years if it's not now to experiment and do something different, it's going be never. I have always actually tried to do that with films like Chameli (2003) and Dev (2004) very early on in my career."

The Buckingham Murders also stars Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen. It is written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and first-time producer Kareena Kapoor Khan. It released in theatres on September 13.
