Yudhra director Ravi Udyawar recently shared why he cast Malavika Mohanan in the upcoming Siddhant Chaturvedi headliner. Malavika is an established actor in the southern film industries, and Yudhra will mark her Hindi debut.

Speaking about the character and how she fits the role, Ravi said, “In an action film, you often believe that the actress will be a meek girl. And she is that meek, beautiful girl. But at the same time she is very strong minded. She knows exactly what she wants. And that’s the character I have written for her. “

“The character begins with being a young damsel who goes on to become a smart, confident girl. She also goes through emotional maturity - and that is what I wanted to capture. It’s difficult to bring two elements like maturity and glamour together. Malavika does it well,” he added.

Yudhra is written by Farhan Akhtar and Sridhar Raghavan. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan under Excel Entertainment, the film also stars Gajraj Rao, Ram Kapoor, Raj Arjun, and Raghav Juyal. It is slated to release on September 20.
