Kajal Aggrawal will be starring in Salman Khan’s upcoming film Sikandar, she confirmed on Thursday. She has started shooting for the film. Directed by AR Murugadoss, it also stars Rashmika Mandanna in the lead.

Kajal took to her Instagram story on Wednesday and posted a photo with a bouquet of flowers and wrote, “Sikandar. Day 1.” She also tagged Rashmika and producer Nadiadwala Grandsons on her story.

Earlier, Salman Khan had begun shooting for the film and was joined by Rashmika. Sikandar marks the first-time director AR Murugadoss and actor Salman are collaborating on a film. Salman’s 2014 film Jai Ho was written by Murugadoss and was based on his 2006 Telugu film Stalin.

The film features music composed by Pritam. It is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under his banner Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment and will be released in theatres on Eid next year.

Kajal was last seen in a cameo in Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2.
