Tumbbad Re-Release Trailer: Sohum Shah headlines this terrifying tale of greed

Sohum Shah unveiled the re-release trailer of his 2018 horror-drama Tumbbad on Wednesday. The film is set to release again in theatres on September 13. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve and co-directed by Adesh Prasad, Anand Gandhi (Ship of Theseus) serves as the executive producer and creative director on the film. It is written by Mitesh Shah, Adesh, Rahi, and Anand.

The trailer begins with an intense voice of Sohum as he introduces the film. The visuals are breathtaking and immersive, taking us back into the rainy terrains of Tumbbad, a fictional hilly town in Maharashtra. The trailer also contains some terrifying snippets of the ghost, Hastar, who haunts Sohum’s character, Vinayak and his son, Pandurang.

The film met with resounding critical acclaim when it released in 2018. Its atmospheric visuals and innovative sound design was lauded by people along with a cinematic exploration of the idea of greed through a folk story rooted in the region of Maharashtra.
