The trailer for Kareena Kapoor Khan’s The Buckingham Murders was unveiled by the makers on Tuesday. The film is helmed by Hansal Mehta with the screenplay written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor and Raghav Raj Kakker. It also stars celebrity chef turned actor Ranveer Brar in a pivotal role along with Ash Tandon, Assad Raja, Prabhleen Sandhu, Sanjeev Mehra, Adwoa Akoto, Zain Hussain.
The trailer gives a glimpse into the child missing case in London that Kareena’s character, detective sergeant Jasmeet Bhamra, investigates as she interrogates various suspects. Further, she gets entangled in a polarised conflict between two communities, as she faces her own grief of losing her own son. The trailer ends with a sense of mystery with some terrifying visuals.
Speaking about the film at the trailer launch, Hansal said, “I have never made a whodunit before. So, that was a new challenge for me while working on the film. Further, people think that I don’t have anything to do with commerce aspect of films but that’s not true. I want to make films that are financially viable and which make money too.”
He added, “It was joyful to collaborate with the entire cast for the film and especially with Kareena. She is among the best actors in the country. Her stardom draws you to the screens but it is her performances that enthralls you ultimately. It is her eyes that speak more than any dialogue in the film.”
The film is a Mahana Films and TBM Films production, presented by Balaji Telefilms and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan. It will be released in theatres on September 13.
