The trailer of Huma Qureshi’s Mithya – The Darker Chapter was unveiled by the makers on Monday. The revenge drama is directed by Kapil Sharma and also stars Naveen Kasturia, Rajit Kapoor, Indraneil Sengupta, Avantika Akerkar, Rushad Rana, Krishna Bisht in pivotal roles.

The trailer takes the story back into where it ended in the first season where half-sisters Juhi (Huma) and Rhea (Avantika) engage in a chase of vengeance. Juhi is accused of plagiarism by a writer Amit Chaudhary (Naveen), which brings new troubles in her life. On the other hand, Rhea plans to win the love of her father, played by Rajit Kapoor, and resorts to manipulation along the way which results in loss of innocent lives along the way.

Speaking about it, Huma said in a statement, “I am thrilled for the return of Mithya This show has pushed me to explore a different side of me as an actor – someone who is vulnerable and vengeful because of the circumstances. I am grateful to the makers for thinking of me for this exciting, meaty role and am looking forward to the next chapter in my character’s life.”

Avantika shared in the press release, “This show was my debut, and it has truly changed so much for me both personally and professionally. I am incredibly grateful to work with such a wonderful team, and being the youngest, I have learned so much from the entire cast. Rhea is a complex and an interesting character, and this season takes her journey to new heights as she navigates revenge and betrayal.”

Naveen spoke of the new season and said, “Being part of a show with such a successful first season is both a pleasure and a responsibility, and I am excited to take it on. This role is unlike anything I have done before—it's something fresh and intriguing for viewers. I am particularly thrilled to share the screen with Huma Qureshi and Rajit Kapur, both of whom are incredible actors and I have had a great time sharing screen space with them.”

The first season of the show aired on ZEE5 in 2022 and was helmed by Rohan Sippy. Mithya – The Darker Chapter will be released on the platform on November 1.
