A case has been filed under Ekta Kapoor and her mother, Shobha Kapoor, under the POCSO Act, for showing inappropriate scenes involving minors in a recent web series, Gandi Baat. The series is available on ALT Balaji, although the relevant episode is not currently streaming on the app.

It is alleged in the complaint that the series showcases obscene scenes of minor girls in its sixth season. According to the Mumbai Police Department, the case has been filed against Ekta, her mother Shobha, and against Balaji Telefilm Limited, under Section 295-A of the IPC, IT Act, and Sections 13 and 15 of the POCSO Act.

Ekta Kapoor is the creative head of Balaji Telefilms and launched the video on demand platform ALTBalaji in 2017. Gandi Baat is an adult comedy series directed by Sachin Mohite. The series was removed from ZEE5 and MX Player owing to its adult content after the government released new rules for OTT platforms.
