Vijay Varma recently revealed in an interview that Jaideep Ahlawat was deeply disappointed when Vijay and his other friends couldn’t attend his wedding. The two have studied acting together in the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and have been friends since.
In an interaction with The Hollywood Reporter India, Vijay recounted this incident when Jaideep’s date of wedding was fixed and it was supposed to take place in his hometown Rohtak in Haryana. Vijay and other friends had booked the tickets to attend the wedding. However, during this time, Jaideep got a role to act in Priyadarshan’s comedy-drama Khatta Meetha (2010) for which he had to delay the wedding by some days.
As Vijay and others were broke at that time, they couldn’t afford to buy the tickets again. “We didn’t know what to do with our tickets. We were like, ‘dobara toh nahi kharid paayenge (we don’t be able to buy again)’”. After this, they didn’t speak to each other for six months.
Some time later, all of them got together and Vijay revealed how Jaideep started crying. “He was sulking. We had some ‘juice’, and after a few drinks, he started howling, complaining that none of his friends attended his wedding. Looking at him, all of us started crying with him,” Vijay shared.
Jaideep and Vijay have continued to be close friends since. They have worked together in films like Chittagong (2012), Baaghi 3 (2020) and Jaane Jaan (2023).
