Actor Atul Parchure passes away at 57

Atul Parchure, known for his work in Marathi cinema, serials and theatre, as well as Hindi films, has died. He was 57. The official reason for his untimely death is still unknown. However, reports say that Parchure died of cancer. According to sources that are close to Atul, he was hospitalised five days ago.

On the actor's passing, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde stated through social media, “The untimely demise of ever introspective class actor Atul Parchure is painful. Atul Parchure has shown his glorious acting since Balrangbhumi days. He made a unique impression in all three fields of drama, film and serials. A classy Marathi actor has been lost due to his departure.”

Besides Marathi, Parchure played comic roles in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Billu Barber, the Ajay Devgn headliner All The Best, and Salman Khan’s film Partner. Parchure is also known for his work in films starting Juhi Chawla, Anil Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty, Sushmita Sen, Govinda, Anupam Kher, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, the late Satish Kaushik, and Akshaye Khanna, among others. He also appeared in shows such as RK Laxman Ki Duniya and Comedy Nights with Kapil.
