The release date of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava has been postponed and the film will now release on February 14 next year. The historical-drama was earlier set to be released on December 6, clashing with Allu Arjun’s much-awaited actioner Pushpa 2: The Rule.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to X to make the announcement through a post. The new release date holds another significance for the film as February 19 marks the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film is based on the Maratha warrior’s son, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
It’s teaser was released earlier, which gave a glimpse into the look of Vicky and Akshaye Khanna, who plays Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in the film. Directed by Laxman Utekar, who has collaborated with Vicky previously on Zara Hatke Zara Bachke (2023), the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Suniel Shetty, Ashutosh Rana and Divya Dutta in pivotal roles.
The film also features music by AR Rahman and is produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films
