Despatch Teaser: Manoj Bajpayee plays a journalist uncovering a scam in Kanu Behl’s gritty film

The teaser of Manoj Bajpayee’s upcoming film Despatch was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. It is directed by Kanu Behl who is known for making gritty films like Agra (2023) and Titli (2015). It is written by Ishani Banerjee and Kanu and also stars Shahana Goswami, Arrchita Agarwaal and Ritu Parna Sen in pivotal roles.

The teaser begins with a gunshot that is fired in a house where Manoj’s character, Joy is sitting. Then he gets on a phone call where he is threatened to be killed. He is a journalist who is looking for a story for his newspaper and is willing to go to any lengths to find the truth behind a scam. In a scene, he is seen beating another person in desperation of getting more information for his story.

The film had its premiere earlier at the MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival and was also screened at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa on Friday.

Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the film is set to be released on ZEE5 on December 13.
