Vicky Kaushal to play Lord Parashurama in Amar Kaushik’s Mahavatar

Mahavatar is scheduled to release in theatres on Christmas, 2026

Vicky Kaushal will be essaying the role of Lord Chiranjeevi Parashurama in Amar Kaushik’s next, titled Mahavatar. The Stree 2 director took to social media on Wednesday to make the announcement.

The filmmaker shared two posters and an announcement video for the upcoming film. The posters show an angry, bearded sage holding an axe. Mahavatar is scheduled to release in theatres on Christmas, 2026. “Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma!

This will be the first collaboration between Amar and Vicky. The film is backed by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Productions. Vicky is also part of another Maddock film, Chhava, helmed by Laxman Utekar.

Maddock also recently announced Thama, a vampire film, starring Ayushmann Khurrana.
