Lost Ladies: Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies gets new title for Oscars 2025

Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies will now be called Lost Ladies as it travels to the international stage after getting selected earlier as India’s official entry to the Oscars 2025. The makers unveiled a new poster to kickstart their campaign for the Academy Awards.

In the poster, major characters from the film feature in a quirky manner, giving a glimpse into its playful world. A quote written on the poster reads, “Sometimes you have to lose your way to find yourself.”

The makers wrote in the caption, “The wait is over! Presenting the official poster for Lost Ladies—a glimpse into the wild, heartfelt journey of Phool and Jaya! Huge shoutout to Jahan Singh Bakshi and Prashanth C for bringing our story to life with this stunning design. Get ready to be swept away! Lost Ladies Poster Reveal.”

Directed by Kiran, the film follows the story of two young newly-wed women who are exchanged to each other’s husbands during a train journey. It stars Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Ravi Kishan and Chhaya Kadam in pivotal roles.

Presented by Jio Studios, Laapataa Ladies is produced by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande, the film released in theatres on March 1. It is currently also streaming on Netflix.
