Producer Bhushan Kumar opened up recently about having a meeting with Singham Again makers to discuss about avoiding the clash with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 at the box-office. He said that they couldn’t re-schedule the releases as they both were bound by certain things.

In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, Bhushan said, “A franchise holds a lot of value, and we were both aware of that. It’s not that we didn’t try to avoid the clash, but we each had certain commitments that made it difficult. For instance, there are pre-commitments with OTT platforms, and they don’t allow rescheduling. We had that majboori, and they had a similar situation.”

He added, “Also, they had a creative compulsion. The theme of the film was Ramayana so they definitely wanted to come on Diwali. So, we both didn’t have a choice. Though we met and discussed whether we could avoid the clash, we both tried but due to these conditions we couldn’t avoid the clash. Now, the loss that a clash brings, we both have to bear that but I am happy that both the films are working well.”

Both the films have been doing well since their release on November 1. Singham Again stood higher on Day 1 as it opened at Rs 43.5 crore against Rs 35.5 crore made by Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.There was a significant drop observed on Monday. The total collection of the Rohit Shetty actioner stands at Rs 139.75 crore while the horror-comedy has managed to make Rs 124 crore in four days since release, according to Sacnilk.com.
