Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has opened at the box-office on Day 1 at Rs 35.5 crore, according to Sacnilk.com. It has become Kartik’s career best opening easily surpassing the collection of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which stood at Rs 14.11 crore. The film clashed at the box-office with Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again.

Despite facing a good competition and having lesser allocation of seats compared to the cop-drama, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 managed to just earn a few crores lesser than Singham Again, which made Rs 43.50 crore on Day 1.

The Anees Bazmee directorial had an overall occupancy of 75.30% on Friday with the greatest number of seats getting filled for the night shows at 84.77%.

The film also stars Triptii Dimri, Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan in pivotal roles. CE’s review of the film read, “It is astounding how unimaginably flat and painfully loud Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 comes out to be. Taking some of the elements of the 2007 film, combined with certain ideas from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, it presents an overtly familiar ‘ghost’ story with some random jests and unfocused scenes. Bazmee’s definition of horror and comedy is simplistic. It is not as inventive as the tactics of the Stree films. Rather, it works in seclusion.”
