Munjya Trailer: A youngster battles a ghoul in this horror-comedy

The trailer of upcoming horror-comedy film, Munjya was released by the makers recently. Helmed by Marathi director Aditya Sarpotdar (Zombivli, 2022), the film features Sharvari, Abhay Verma, Mona Singh and S. Sathyaraj in pivotal roles.

The trailer begins with introducing the conflict in terms of a mythic legend of Munjya, who was killed when he was young and couldn’t marry the love of his life, Munni. The place where his remains are buried, Chetukwadi is deemed to be haunted along with a tree where his ashes lay. Then the trailer cuts to real-time as we meet a young man who is haunted by the spirit of Munjya. Munjya will only be liberated when his wish of marrying Munni is completed. What follows is a journey filled with gags and scenes of terror as the spirit causes disturbance to the everyday life of the character played by Abhay Verma. Sharvari plays his love interest and Mona Singh is his mother.

The film is written by Yogesh Chandekar with additional screenplay and dialogue by Niren Bhatt. Its music has been given by Sachin- Jigar with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. It is produced by the makers of Stree, Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik. It will be released in theatres on June 7.
