CE Features

Mirza’, the song from Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan was released by the makers on Monday. It is an ode to homecoming and features Ajay’s character returning home to his family. It is composed by AR Rahman with lyrics by Manoj Muntashir Shukla and is sung by Richa Sharma and Javed Ali.

The music video opens with Priyamani writing something in a notebook as her daughter announces the arrival of Ajay. Vocals by Richa begin and harmonise into Sufi music. The song has a classical feel to it and captures the feeling of love. Javed’s husky voice lends in a spiritual flavour to the music.

Ajay’s character in Maidaan is based on football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who led the Indian football team to victory at the Asian Games in 1951 and 1962. The film is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and also stars Gajraj Rao. It is produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta and Akash Chawla and will hit the theatres on Eid in April.
