Citadel: Honey Bunny will be the Indian series within the Citadel Universe, Prime Video announced on Tuesday. It stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead along with Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, Kashvi Majumdar, Saquib Saleem and Sikandar Kher in pivotal roles. The series is directed by Raj and DK who have written it with Sita Menon.

The poster for the series was unveiled by the makers which features Varun and Samantha holding guns as they merge with the title. They wrote in the caption, “Citadel: Honey Bunny has a riveting narrative that fuses the pulse-pounding elements of a gritty spy action thriller with the heartwarming allure of a love story, all set against the vibrant tapestry of the 90s. Honey Bunny is the Indian series within the Citadel universe.”

The American version of Citadel came out last year on the streaming platform. It starred Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden in the lead. Multiple spin-offs of the show are planned which will be set in Italy, Mexico and Spain respectively.
