Kunal Kemmu opened up about his upcoming film Madgaon Express at the film’s trailer launch recently. He called the film a product of rage, which helped him in crafting the characters. The film is written by him and marks his directorial debut. It stars Divyenndu, Avinash Tiwary, Pratik Gandhi, Upendra Limaye and Chhaya Kadam in pivotal roles.
Speaking of the film, Kunal said, “Often, people say that their venture is a product of love. I think Madgaon Express is a product of rage. I was in a difficult state where I was sitting at home and piling up with anger. I had two options – either I should get angry at myself and cry or I create something which makes everyone laugh along with me (sic).”
He added, "That’s what gave birth to Madgaon Express. The characters helped me out of this time in life. They became my imaginary best friends and I started weaving a story around them. I just wanted to channelize it into something that makes people laugh and that's how honestly the journey of this film started."
Madgaon Express is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment. It is set to hit theatres on March 22.
