The trailer of the upcoming web series Lootere was released by the makers on Wednesday. It stars Rajat Kapoor, Vivek Gomber, Amruta Khanvilkar and Aamir Ali in pivotal roles. The series is created by Shailesh R Singh and directed by Jai Mehta with Hansal Mehta serving as the showrunner.

The trailer introduces Rajat Kapoor as the captain of a ship which is hijacked by a bunch of pirates. They take the entire crew hostage and shed terror. There are visuals of massive ships where a lot of bloody action takes place. Deals are hatched with the pirates by the authorities, some of whom have ulterior motives. At one point, the character of Rajat observes how the pirates are outnumbered by the crew and they can fight back.

Earlier, Jai Mehta directed some episodes of Scam 1992 with Hansal Mehta. In 2017, he directed the short film Paanipath which showed the reality of India’s water crisis. Lootere is produced by Shailesh R Singh, who is known for producing films like Tanu Weds Manu (2011), Shahid (2012), Aligarh (2015) and Omerta (2017). It will premiere on Disney + Hotstar on March 22.
