Vijay Varma spoke about his role in the upcoming film Murder Mubarak at the film’s trailer launch on Tuesday. He plays the role of lawyer Akash Oberoi in the film, which is directed by Homi Adajania. It also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Sara Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Karisma Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, and Sanjay Kapoor in pivotal roles. It is based on the book 'Club You To Death' by Anuja Chauhan.

Speaking about his character in the film, Vijay said, “It is a little bit of a break from the bad guys I have played. Although since it's a mystery film, I won't reveal much."

He added, "But Akash Oberoi is a lawyer, his heart is broken, that's all I know. He has a love and hate relationship with the Royal Delhi Club, and he wants to run away from it (sic).”

Vijay was last seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s Jaane Jaan, where he played the role of a cop. He will also be seen essaying the role of a pilot in the series IC814: The Kandahar Hijack.
