Anurag Kashyap recently revealed in a podcast that he had to spent a night in jail after he slapped the wrong person. The filmmaker added that the same person then brought him out of jail and changed his life.

In an interaction with Samay Raina for his YouTube channel, Anurag said, “Yes, I have gone to jail. I slapped the wrong person. Somebody you are not supposed to hit. I was in jail for a night. The man who put me in the lock up is the same guy who changed my life completely. He was the who brought me out.”

He was there promoting his latest show Bad Cop, which also stars Gulshan Devaiah in a double role. Gulshan was also present at the podcast and was shocked to hear him recall this incident. However, Anurag didn’t share more details of it.

Bad Cop is directed by Aditya Datt and stars Anurag in a negative role. It was released on Disney+ Hotstar on June 21. He was also seen in the Tamil film Maharaja, alongside Vijay Sethupathi.
