Kartik Aaryan’s Chandu Champion inches closer to Rs 60 crore at the box-office

The Kabir Khan directorial maintained a decent hold over the weekend with an hike of 30 percent in its collections on Sunday

Kartik Aaryan’s Chandu Champion has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the box-office is edging towards Rs 60 crore with the total collection standing at Rs 57.76 crore. The Kabir Khan directorial saw a good trend over the weekend with nearly 30 percent hike and collecting Rs 8.01 crore on Sunday.

The film opened at Rs 5.40 crore on its Day 1, and witnessed a 45% growth on Day 2 raking in Rs 7.70 crore on Saturday. Growing more on Day 3, Sunday, it collected Rs 11.01 crore. Continuing on the streak, the film earned Rs 6.01 crore on Day 4; Rs 3.6 crore on Day 5; Rs 3.40 crore on Day 6; Rs 3.01 crore on Day 7; Rs 3.32 crore on Day 8; Rs 6.30 crore on Day 9 and Rs 8.01 crore on Day 10, Sunday.

Chandu Champion is based on the extraordinary life of Murlikant Petkar, India's first Paralympic gold medallist in freestyle swimming. 

It is written by Kabir himself, Sumit Arora, and Sudipto Sarkar, and also stars Vijay Raaz and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles. Jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan, the film was released in theatres on June 14.
