Sharvari and Abhay Verma’s Munjya box-office collection stands at Rs 74.31 crore

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the horror-comedy film also stars Mona Singh

Sharvari and Abhay Verma’s Munjya has managed to earn over Rs 74.31 crore at the box-office, the makers announced on Saturday. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the horror-comedy film also stars Mona Singh in a pivotal role.

The makers shared a poster of the film along with weekly box-office collections it made since the release on June 7. It collected Rs 36.50 crore in the Week 1 of its release, Rs 34.50 crore in Week 2 and Rs 3.31 crore on Day 15. The makers wrote in caption, “Munjya is grateful for your dher saara pyaar at the Box Office (Munjya is grateful for all your love at the box-office).

Munjya is reportedly set in the Maddock Films' horror comedy universe, comprising films such as Stree (2018), Roohi (2021) and Varun’s Bhediya (2022). The post-credits scene in the film features Varun Dhavan’s character from Bhediya.

Set in Pune and the Konkan region of Maharashtra, Munjya follows the story of the eponymous mythical creature which has its roots in Marathi folklore. It is written by Yogesh Chandekar with additional screenplay and dialogue by Niren Bhatt.
