Karan Johar calls Kartik Aaryan’s Chandu Champion, ‘A must-watch’

Directed by Kabir Khan, the film is based on the real-life story of paralympic swimmer Murlikant Petkar

Karan Johar shared his reaction after watching Kartik Aaryan’s Chandu Champion and called it, ‘a must-watch’. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film also stars Vijay Raaz and Rajpal Yadav in pivotal roles and is based on the real-life story of paralympic swimmer Murlikant Petkar.

Taking to his Instagram stories, Karan said, “Solid. Sincere. Supreme. @kabirkhankk directs this brave and inspiring life tale like a love letter to the human spirit! @kartikaaryan gives his career best performance with a humane and honest portrayal. A must watch.”

Kartik responded to Karan's appreciation and wrote, "Thanks Karan. Means a lot."

Earlier, Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar had showered praises on the film and called Kartik’s performance a major highlight of the film. Kartik went through rigorous body transformation to play the role in the biopic. Speaking about it earlier, Kabir had revealed that Kartik lived like an athlete for over 1.5 years.

The film is jointly produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and Kabir Khan and was released in theatres on June 14.
