Kangana Ranaut was slapped by a CISF officer during security check at Chandigarh airport on Thursday. According to online reports, the actor turned politician was slapped for pushing the security personnel after she refused to put her phone in the tray for security check. The CISF officer is from Sultanpur Lodhi in Punjab's Kapurthala and is a sister of farmer leader Sher Singh Malhiwal. She was suspended and FIR was filed against her in the matter.

Kangana took to X after the incident to make a video. In the video, she said, “I am getting a lot of phone calls, from the media as well as my well-wishers. First of all, I am safe, I am perfectly fine. The incident that happened today at Chandigarh airport was during the security check. As soon as I came out after the security check, the lady in the second cabin, a CISF security staff came from the side, hit me on my face and started abusing me.”

She added, “When I asked her why she did so, she said that she supports farmers' protest. I am safe but I am concerned about the terrorism and extremism that is increasing in Punjab.”

Kangana recently won the Lok Sabha seat for Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, defeating the Congress candidate Vikramaditya Singh.

She was last seen in the film Tejas where she essayed the role of a pilot. Her film Emergency was earlier delayed for release due to the elections.
