Vicky Kaushal and Tripti Dimri starrer Bad Newz has earned over Rs 1.5 crore in the advance booking for Day 1, according to Sacnilk.com. Directed by Anand Tiwari, the romantic-comedy also stars Ammy Virk and Neha Dhupia in pivotal roles.

The film has managed to sell over 54,437 tickets for 6,912 shows all across the country. It is expected to do a steady opening at the box-office as it releases tomorrow.

Vicky Kaushal’s song from the film, ‘Tauba Tauba’ has been getting a lot of praise online with many users attempting to decode the step and trying it on their own. Speaking earlier about how his wife Katrina Kaif had reacted to the song, Vicky had said, “She keeps telling me, ‘I know you love to dance. But you are a baraati dancer, and not a trained one’. That’s because I get carried away, and she tells me that is fine in real life, but I need to preserve the energy for the camera.This time, she was happy because I held it back in terms of expression, moves and attitude.”

Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Leo Media Collective, Bad Newz is the spiritual spiritual successor to the Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Good Newwz (2019) which revolved around the life of two couples whose lives intertwine due to a blunder made by a doctor during in vitro fertilization (IVF). It will be released in theatres on July 19.
