The trailer of the upcoming horror-comedy Stree 2 was unveiled by the makers on Thursday. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film stars Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana. It will also have a guest appearance by Tamannaah Bhatia.

After the events of the first film, the entity ‘Stree’ has stopped haunting the small town of Chanderi. But there is another demonic presence looming over the residents in the form of ‘Sarkata’, a headless ghost. He has been kidnapping the women of the town. Now Vicky (Rajkummar) and gang have to join forces again to fight this evil entity. Shraddha Kapoor, who was revealed in the end of the first film to have ghost-hunting powers, also lends support. The trailer is filled with quippy one-liners. In one, Pankaj Tripathi’s Rudra even compares the headless ghost to an influencer, ‘looking out for followers’.

Stree 2 is part of Maddock Films’ ‘Supernatural Universe’, which includes Munjya and Bhediya. The film is scheduled to release on August 15.
