Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira has collected over Rs 12 crore at the box office in three days since its release on July 12, according to Sacnilk.com. The film has become among the lowest earners in Akshay’s recent releases, opening at a meagre Rs 2.4 crore which is lesser than the opening of Mission Raniganj (Rs 2.8 crore) and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (Rs 16.07 crore).

The film saw a gradual increase on Day 2, earning over Rs 4.25 crore with a 70 percent rise. It followed on Day 3, Sunday, as the film collected             Rs 5.25 crore. There was a dip on Monday with an overall occupancy of 9.07 percent as the film earned Rs 0.64 crore.

In the post-pandemic era, Akshay’s films have struggled to hold their mark at the box-office. Apart from OMG 2 (2023) and Sooryavanshi (2021), none of his films were hits. He next has Sky Force and Singham Again in his slate, releasing later this year.

Sarfira is directed by Sudha Kongara and also stars Paresh Rawal and Radhikka Madan in pivotal roles. It is a Hindi remake of her Tamil film Soorarai Pottru (2020) and was released in theatres on July 12.

Our review of the film read, "Sarfira is an unoriginal, woefully predictable experience. An almost shot-by-shot remake of Sudha Kongara’s 2020 multiple National-award winner Soorarai Pottru, the film feels force-fitted and inorganic. Its highs feel borrowed and it hasn’t been able to shed the lows of the original. Another assembly-line product from the house of Akshay."
