Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas completes 22 years: ‘The magic lives on’

The film starred Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Jackie Shroff

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Madhuri Dixit Nene, completed 22 years since its release on Friday.

Bhansali productions took to social media to share a mashup of clips from the film. In the clips, Shah Rukh and Aishwarya are seen romancing each other. Jackie Shroff who played the character of Chunnilal also features. The iconic song ‘Maar Daala’ picturised on Madhuri Dixit is also featured in the mashup video.

Released on July 12, 2002, Devdas is one of Bhansali’s most acclaimed projects. The film earned critical acclaim and also performed on the box office.
